In this video, we’ll be focusing on adding relationship linkages to our activities in Primavera. Ito set the scene once again we’re looking at Railcar Maintenance Facility project example, and as you can see I have a number of activities added to my schedule. Probably just that, and looking at the Gantt chart, you can see that those activities do not have relationships launched on them.

You can see that all these activities start exactly on the same day. Okay on this blue one which is the day to day also set to the project started. Once we add relationship linkages to our project, we’ll be able to schedule our project, a very important feature in Primavera and that’s kind of the future lesson. So let’s focus on adding relationship links.

The first thing I want you to notice is my layout, so I have my Gantt chart showing, I have my activity list here and more importantly on a bottom half my screen I’ve chosen this relationships tab, and the relationships tab is where we will be doing our work in this lesson. It is divided into Predecessors’ side and Successors’ side.

You could probably guess what those terms mean: Predecessor is the activity that comes before the one that I have highlighted. So when I highlight an activity, the activity that comes before is listed in the Predecessors and the activity that comes after is listed in...
