Welcome back. In this lesson we’re talk about how to export projects to XER files. Once again, this is an essential skill you’re going to need to know. These are the steps you’re going to need to follow in order to submit your workshop to us at the end is this course. So make sure you pay close attention and revisit this lesson if you need it.

So in this lesson we’re talking about exporting once again to XER files. So I have the same project we worked with in the previous video My Simple Project and I’m going to show you how easy it is to export projects to an XER file. So having the project open is the first step and then we’ll go to the file menu and go down to export. Now the export icon looks like a little bit different in the import options but you can see that there are many more formats that we can export to.

This field is particularly important. We’ve got to pick the version. Now for the case of working in Plan Academy you can export any version you like but when you’re working with other people, other contracts, in the red world situation, you may have to downgrade your version to match their version. So perhaps you’re in 8.4 but there are version 7 and in that case you have to export to a version 7 XER file.
