Hi, welcome back to the course. In this session called Introduction to the Layouts in P6 we’ll be covering a lot of god activity layout and understanding how activity layouts can help us customize the screen. We’ll learn how to open layouts and then we’ll take some time to actually dive in and explore some common layouts. We see how layouts can be really powerful features, we’ll see how layouts can assist us in different phases in building and planning in a project schedule and how that can be powerful as well and last but not the least we’ll understand the difference between global layouts and user layouts. If you’re ready to get started, let’s get into Primavera.

Back in primavera now, I’m looking at the project that I have recently opened, the Haitang Corporate file project. And as you can see I’m on my activity screen so I’m going to open the project and going to have gone to the activity screen. Let’s talk about the concept of layouts. Layouts are screen customizations. Primavera allows us the ability to set up your screen any way you like with many different options for how to lay that screen out. You can then say that screen customization essentially capturing all the different features that you’ve set and save that as a layout and that layout can be re-use over and over on different projects you’re working on.
