Percent Complete Fields and Settings in Primavera P6

We're getting warmed up with P6's Percent Complete Types. This lesson gives a short demonstration on the flow of data from percent complete fields like Activity % Complete and Duration % Complete. It's important to understand how to change the settings and how the data flows in Primavera P6.

Have a look at this very simple project I’ve created to help explain this concept of percent complete types, I have three activities, each one has a different name duration units and physical, I’ve also set up the columns a certain way, I’ve put up the percent complete columns over here, duration units and physical percent complete.

Let me start by showing you where you can find the option to set the percent complete type for each activity, if you highlight an activity and go to the general tab you’ll see these field here, it says percent complete type, and you can see there your three options, duration, physical and units, now I’ve put this field up here as a column so that I can adjust it here as well and what I’ll do is I’ll make the proper associations for each activity.

So what does this percent complete type setting really do for us? Well I want to show you each activity regardless of what percent complete type they have can have a duration percent complete, a units percent complete and a physical percent complete, we can have values in each of those fields, let me show you how that works.

If I go here to duration, statuses mark it started and go ahead and put in 25% complete for duration, have a look at what happened, the duration percent complete went to 25%, the units percent complete also went to 25%, I'm also able to put ...
