In this session we’re continuing on thing on activity layout and we’ll be setting up a basic activity layout in Primavera P6. The agenda for this lesson are as follows, essentially we will be creating a layout to help us in adding activities in our schedule and setting up fields properly for that.

We’ll start with the very basic layout and then we’ll add some columns to customize that layout slightly so it serves our purposes. Lastly we’ll understand the options for saving the layout, we’ll go ahead and save the layout and then we’ll be ready to move on to adding the activities into our schedule.

Let’s get started in Primavera. I now have the Railcar Maintenance Facility Project open and at this stage of building our project schedule, all we have is our work breakdown structure completed. And as you can see, its being shown on the screen here. There is my work breakdown structure. What I’ve done is I’ve gone into layout open and I’ve chosen this very basic layout called activity ID name. So I’ve opened the activity ID name layout and what I’d like to do is customize the columns somewhat to assist me in the process of adding the activities to my schedule.
