Hi and welcome back to the course. In this lesson we’re adding activities to our projects schedule. As you can see I have the project schedule open. However, this project actually had no activities in it at all. All I have right now is my work breakdown structure that we’ve added from previous lessons.

I want you to notice as well that I’ve gone ahead and opened this lay-out called adding activities area which I created earlier to help us in adding the activities to the schedule. The reason I opened it is it has the right column names that I want to see as I go ahead with our activities. If you’re ready, let’s go ahead and start.

Adding activity to a schedule is one of the most fundamental ability that you’ll learn in this course, it’s very common on an everyday basis to be able to add a new activity to a schedule. In this situation, we’re starting a schedule that has no activities in it at all thus what we’re showing on screen is simply the project work breakdown structure. So let’s start adding some important activities to the schedule. The first step is to decide where in the was that we’d like the activity to be. So for the first activity, we’d like it to belong under the engineering, great.
