In this short video lesson learn how to set the same Percent Complete Type for all activities in your project. You'll learn how to set a default type for your P6 project and how to quickly change the type for any existing activities as well.
To wrap up this lesson I want to show you the way that you can set the percent complete type for most activities on the project as you're building your schedule, if I go to the projects tab where I have my project and I can go down to the defaults tab of the project, here in the defaults tab you’ll see the section says defaults for new activities and I can set the percent complete type her to say physical.
This is not going to change any existing activities but it will change any new ones that I add, so if I go back to the activities page you’ll See nothing has changed here but now as I add new activities they’ll all have the physical percent complete type to them.
If you're wondering how to change the existing activities from one percent complete type to another you can do that with a fill down and we’ve seen fill down in other lessons and tutorials throughout the site but essentially you want to add your percent complete type column here and you can simply change the top activity to the of the value you want to essentially fill down or copy down.
Then what we’ll do is we’ll highlight the other activities like that and see this orange halo should be in this column and I’ll simply right click and do a fill down and that will change the percent complete types for all those activities over from perhaps duration over the physical.
