Budgets and Funding in P6 EPPM

If your project uses funding sources to support your budgets, then what you can do within P6 EPPM? In this lesson we're going to take you through the funding tab on the projects and EPS page, as well as how to assign funds and record funding sources.

Before we get started in this lesson, go ahead and open the project shown here so you can follow along. In this lesson, we are going to take a look at the budget log and funding within P6. If your project uses funding sources to support your budgets, then what you can do within P6 is create both of these and keep a record of them and track against them. There's some nuances in which might not be completely obvious will cover in a moment. But first of all, what we're gonna do is look at the Funding tab within the projects and EPS page.

So if we need to assign some funds or record funding sources for a particular project, we can do that down here. So if you don't have the Funding tab, just click on the little cog icon over here, and just make sure that you've got it selected. The eye symbol on mine here means that it is visible. If it's not visible it will appear as a crossed out signal. Okay, once you've got the funding tab up, we can click the Assigned button and see what funding sources have been set up for us. We've got a couple in here within EPPM, external funding and department/cost center.

These are ones that have been built into the system. If I go into external funding, I can see we've got two in here venture capital, and private investments. If I click on private investments, I can see there's nothing else beneath that so if I want to say that we'...
