I want to wrap up this course with some final thoughts and with a story of a project that I have worked with maybe about 20 years ago. I have a lot of experience over 20 something years and I've seen cases of disasters that could have been avoided if the right people make the right decisions. In many cases, you will find that the person who sits at the top of the organization, usually the owner's organization, make decisions that are not wise as far as scheduling and as far as could be estimating or project controls. And the problem is that those people who are the professionals, either they do not provide proper consultation or that that person on the top of the organization doesn't listen to them. There is a miscommunication problem that unfortunately leads to disasters in many cases.

In this story, I want to tell you about there was a project I would say a mid-sized project that I worked in and I was resident project engineer there in the field. And we started actually with the wrong type of contract. Here's what we have. The owner, the owner wasn't an individual it was an organization and those who were presenting that organization had absolutely no knowledge in professional project management, construction project management, construction in general or scheduling in any of that.
