Creating a New Project from Scratch and a Template

In this lesson, we're going to take a look at the different options for creating a new project. We'll look at creating a project from a template, copying and pasting a project that you already have, creating a new project, and the options for importing a new project. And once you've done that, we'll talk about how you set the project defaults.

So firstly, creating a new project. If I click on this cog up here on the top left-hand side, I can choose to add a new project. I'm going to select that. So this is the simplest way of doing it. If you have a project ID and a project name, you can put those in here. Quite often in organizations who are using EPPM, they'll have a finance system where a project has been already established.

So you would utilize that project ID and project name here. For the sake of now, I'm just going to put in EX01 and create the project name as well. You can put in a description here that can be utilized elsewhere. The EPS section tells you which folder within the enterprise project structure this project is going to be placed, so I'm going to click into here, and I'm going to place it in Line of Business 4.

After that, I might want to change who has access to this project and I'm going to say that I want anyone within the IT organization to be able to access it. The Project Planned Start date is exactly as it sounds, ...
