Hello and welcome to the lesson on enterprise and project level data.

So what's the difference between the two? It's quite simple to explain, so we'll have a look at it here. Enterprise data is data objects that can be shared across all projects. They're created once, normally by central administration and can be used on any project with the idea being that it saves time and effort. Set up centrally, they can be used by anybody that has a project within the environment. Sometimes enterprise level data is referred to as global data.

The global data sets we'll have a look at in a moment. They're not specific to any one project, so they can be used by any. So as we said there, there are data objects that can be shared across projects. Some examples for you here: resources and roles. We want one resource dictionary that everybody uses, one role dictionary that everybody uses. If I want to collate information across all my projects, having a standardized set of data is the way to go about doing this.

Cost accounts. Normally within an organization, you'll find there's one set of cost accounts that needs to be used. P6 enables this, one set of cost accounts set up centrally, used globally.
