Exporting a Project to XML in P6 EPPM

So what do we want to export? It works slightly differently to P6 Professional, in that you don't have to have the project open to be able to export it. In this lesson, you'll be taken step-by-step through the different importing options, how baselines are associated and more.

Hello, again. In this lesson, we're going to take a look at exporting projects in an XML format from P6 Web. So in the HDML screen on the EPS page if you click the actions menu, and the option there is to import/export projects. We have two tabs here, import as we can see here, and the export option. When you're exporting from P6 Web, if you click on that dropdown list there, you'll see the different options that we've got, and all of them are in the XML format. When importing in P6 Web, we can only import XML files. So for exporting these are our options. So we're gonna select the top one, Primavera XML.

So what do we want to export? It works slightly differently to P6 Professional, in that you don't have to have the project open to be able to export it. You can add the projects in that you want to export, and do that by clicking the button there. In our select project, we can type in the first couple of letters and that will automatically filter for us. Now that we've got our list up I'm gonna select the first of my exercise 10s and click select.

If we have any baselines against our project right click on that button there. We'll get another box up to see what, if any baselines are available to export. In this particular project, there isn't any. So, I can click the cancel button. Something to be aware of when exporting baselines is that when you import ...
