Before we get started in this lesson, go ahead and open the project shown here so that you can follow along. Hello again. In this lesson we are going to take a look at P6 Web's views. Very similar to P6 Professional's layout, slightly different name. You can create views in lots of different windows. We are just going to talk through the different options. Not actually how you change those views but just the different screens and some of the fundamental principles of them.

Firstly and obviously, this is to do more with the more recent versions, we're using version 17.11 here. We have lots of screens that are now HTML rather than Java-enabled which is great and gets rid of some of the problems we've had with Java previously. But, one thing that I have picked up on is that HTML views are not shared in the Java screens. So if you prefer using one or the other or both you cannot share the views between the two interfaces. So here I'm in the PS screen and I've got my views drop down list in here. Not much in there at the moment. Just my default view for viewing projects.

If I click on manage views, it brings up another box like so and you can see that have the standard set of settings that you can change, columns, filters, groupings, sorting, bars and the Gantt chart. You can see that we got global views, and user views. So you save views for everybody to use a...
