Resource and Role Teams in P6 EPPM

In this lesson you'll learn how role teams work. How to create, assign and save your own resource and role team. We're going to show you how to find the resource team summary section, how to add user role team, grouping them together and more.

Before we get started in this lesson, go ahead and open the project shown here so you can follow along. Hello, again, in this lesson, we're going to take a look at resource and role teams. So, what we're going to do is go into the assignment screen for this.

And by clicking Assign Resource, we can pick resources to work on a particular activity. So here we've got Assign Resources screen, and normally, we'd be assigning by active resources. But we also have the ability to pick from certain resource teams. I've got a resource team set up in here for land work, where I've got the site manager, labourer, ground-worker, and bricklayer set up as an individual team.

And we're going to have a look in this section on how we can set up one of those. So I'm just going to click Cancel in there and go off to the Resources page. In the Resources Administration page, we can see that not only have we got the resource and role dictionaries, but we've also got sections for Resource Teams and Role Teams.

I'm going to select Resource Teams, and we'll create our own. Okay, so underneath User, we've got the one we saw a moment ago for a land gang. But we're going to create our own, so to do that we'll click on the Add button. I'm going to set one up for a training team. Once we've created it, then we need to assign the resources to it.
