Using Primavera EPPM Dashboards

In this lesson, we're going to take a look at P6 EPPM's Dashboards. Dashboards are by default, the entry point into P6 Web. So, often people's first interaction with the tool.

Hello. In this lesson, we're going to take a look at P6 Web Dashboards. Dashboards are, by default, the entry point into P6 Web. So, often people's first interaction with the tool. On my screen at the moment, I don't have any dashboards to display and I thought I'd run through this because this is quite often the case with dashboards, that people don't have the access rights to actually change them. You'll notice that on Portfolios and Projects, we have these little drop-down menus in the form of these triangles. And by clicking on those we get a sub-menu. I don't actually have that for dashboards and quite often, as I said, these are limited by the system administration.

So, I'm just going to go in and show you how you can change it if you have the access rights to do so. So, let's go and take a look at the admin, go into My Preferences. So first of all, if I click on the View button and you'll notice that in my settings, neither the tick boxes are selected for dashboards. So, I'll tick both of those and click Save. Once saved, I'll click Close and that takes us back to what is a very simple dashboard, but it's okay if it's a starting point for how we can make some changes.

So, dashboards are fundamentally made up of sets of data. In this particular one, we're filtering it based on a particular portfolio of work called The Orchards. We'll have a look at...
